Other Services

Besides offering renewal courses, the institute premises and services are also available other users, for individual and group retreats, (by private arrangement), conferences, seminars and workshops, meetings, receptions and accommodation.

The expansive and green gardens offer retreatants an atmosphere of tranquility in the middle ofa crouded Kampala city.

There is daily Mass for groups and individuals who wish to attend in the quiet of a private chapel. Others who prefer, have easy access to bigger parishes within walking distance when one can experience a vibrant African liturgy on Sundays in English and Luganda.

Transport can be provided using the Institute min-bus for groups of up to 14 passangers, as a special arrangement.

Guests are welcome to enjoy a wide variety of indoor and outdoor games, including tennis, table tennis, pool, drafts, chess, darts, “mweso”, etc. 

Other services at the institute include wireless internet access, canteen services and ample parking space.

The institute is situtated thirty-six km away from Entebbe international airport, 3 kilometers from Kampala city centre, 20 kilometers from Namugongo Uganda Martyrs' shrine and 10 kilometers from Lake Victoria with its variety of beaches for "picnickers".

 

 

 

Sabbatical Program 2018

In November 2016 The Uganda Episcopal Conference agreed that a Sabbatical Program be started at St. Augustine’s Institute, starting 2018.A year later, the bishops endorsed the draft for the Sabbatical program which is now unleashed in this prospective.

It is ushered in with a 30 day Ignatian retreat, followed by seven weeks which are carefully designed to foster the participant’s relation with the inner self, with God and with others.

Course John

Course John is offered by the St. Andrew’s School of Evangelization in Canada, together with their counterparts in Uganda.

The St. Andrew School of Evangelization is a Catholic ministry of lay people and clergy, evangelizing, proclaiming the gospel in the model of the apostle St. Andrew. St. Andrew, upon encountering the Christ, first went to get his brother Simon Peter. (Cf. John1:35-42)
